US-led coalition capture senior IS leader in north Syria raid


 US-drove alliance powers say they caught a senior head of the jihadist bunch Islamic State (IS) in a short-term strike in northern Syria.

The man was "an accomplished bomb creator and functional facilitator", an alliance explanation said.

The Washington Post referred to US authorities as saying the caught IS pioneer was Ahmed Kurdi and that he was otherwise called the "wail", or lead representative, of Raqqa.
